Second Career

I am transitioning into a paramedic/fire career as a second career. Just curious as to the ways people have managed getting all the required hours for P-school and then P-school itself while still working.
With the time availability it seems like it is going to take forever. Thanks. JC

When I went to Paramedic School I was still able to maintain my fulltime status with AMR (with lots of shift trades and give-aways). So I generally worked 3 days, went to school for 2, and studied the other 2. Great thing about working on an ambulance is that you generally have plenty of study time. Financially speaking though, it was definitely a stretch.
