In San Francisco, take a look at Bayshore or King American.

get on the waiting list with these companies if they have one. last i heard, neither king american nor bayshore were hiring, but it's worth trying them anyway. also try contacting cpmc and st. joseph's.

also, if you apply with amr, select other counties besides s.f. - that might get you in a job faster...just an idea.

you can also get into a volunteer program in the er at sf general. while it doesn't pay, it's good experience and often helps with your app for medic school or emt jobs...
