Hi Iam 22 and have diabetes and was wondering if that was a problem in becoming a fire fighter

While awaiting a formal reply from the FireCareers staff, please let me offer this...
Please know that there are 30,310 Fire Departments in the United States. While many of them indeed prohibit the career employment or limit the volunteer membership of those who are insulin-dependent diabetics, the truth is that such decisions are usually made on a Department by Department basis.
Your answer then, is best obtained from the Departments to which you are considering. Hopefully our friends at FireCareers can offer you some better insight.
