Amidst the large maze that has been locating fire training near where we'll be moving (Northern Idaho), I've come to a bit of a crossroads.
I have two options I'm currently looking at... one is to get an AAS degree in Fire Science Technology at Spokane Community College (http://www.ccs.spokane.edu/files/students/CareerG/TechIndus/FireScience.pdf), and the other is to attend a fire academy (thinking this one: http://www.trainingdivision.com/index.htm).
My indecision lies in whether I should go for the degree, or go to the academy. Can anyone give me some advise here on which is the better route? Which program would make me more likely to land a job, and which would likely be better training?
College degree, or academy training?
