I am currently dealing with the IRS for a 2003 tax audit. I have already dealt with the examiner and provided all of the information I had to offer. As a result of my exam I now owe the IRS $2,561.00. I received no penalties, negligence, fraud, or anything like that. These fees are for expenses that were not filed correctly or that I could not provide enough substantial evidence of.
I just sent my signed consent paperwork in towards the assessment of the additional taxes owed and awaiting a response.
Lesson learned here is that when you are dealing with complex taxes, get a professional.
Should I be concerend about this in my background?
Buckle Up, I'm on a Mission!
