Requirements:

Graduation from high school or successful certification of equivalency (GED).
Minimum of eighteen (18) years of age prior to application.
Possession a valid Class C driver's license prior to hire and maintenance of such during the course of employment.
Acceptable driving record.
Communicate clearly and concisely, in English both orally and in writing.
Read, comprehend and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form, memos, and documents including policies and procedures, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in various situations.
Display good judgment and safe work practices during long shifts.
Must have steel toe high top work boots.
Must agree to undergo a criminal background check.
Must agree to a pre-employment physical.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Working knowledge of principles and practices of fuels reduction.
Experience with power and hand tools.
Ability to work well within a team environment.
Experience as a hand crew or fire crewmember. (Volunteer or part-time experience is creditable and should be included if appropriate to this position.)
Ability to read maps
Desirable training includes:
S-130 (Basic Wildland Firefighter.
S-190 (Introduction to Fire Behavior)
1-100 (Introduction to Incident Command System)
L-180 (Human Factors)

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
All candidates selected to fill a volunteer firefighter post in this classification must submit to and pass a drug-screening test after meeting the following minimum requirements:
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED
- Must be able to pass a mandated fire department physical examination.

Education and Experience:
Any combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities, required for the job.

Licenses and Certifications:
A valid automobile driver's license.

Required certifications to be obtained and maintained throughout service within 12 months of appointment:
- National Professional Qualifications Board (Pro Board) Firefighter I Certification
- FEMA National Incident Management System ICS-100, ICS-200 IS-700, and IS-800 certificates.
- American Heart Association BLS CPR certification.

All of the above training will be provided to volunteer recruits at no cost. This training will be provided in-house to any person appointed to the force.
