I have downloaded the application for LA County Fire Dept. and there is a section on it that has me a bit confused. It says on the application:
To qualify for employment, you must be a United States citizen, or a permanent resident alien who is eligible for and has applied for citizenship.
Are you a United States citizen?
and it goes on to say: are you a us citizen, yes or no.
I am so I checked yes
then it goes on to say:
Are you a permanent resident alien, yes or no
Should I check no? I am not, but I dont want to check no and get dq'd for it, or leave it blank and get dq'd.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thank You

Gtoaster:
If you claim to be a US Citizen and were born in the United States, or are a child born of US Citizens, (Mom and dad) then you are NOT an alien, nor are you are a resident alien.
No reason to concern yourself about checking anything but "NO" on the "Are you a permanent resident alien" question. Yer not!
Best wishes
